“All I Ask of You” – Phantom of the Opera

Updated: Sep 3, 2020

“All I Ask of You” is in my opinion the most beautiful love song on Broadway. And of course, it is in the longest running show on Broadway – Phantom of the Opera. In the musical Christine and Raoul escape to the roof where she tells him of her encounter with the Phantom. Raoul promises to love and protect her, and she vows the same. It is a pure love, where they are putting the other persons interest before their own.

This bring us to the final part of Micah 6:8:

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love mercy,[a] and to walk humbly with your God?

To walk humbly with your God. To walk is an expression to live and to act. To walk with someone is to be with them ALL the time. So, we are to humble ourselves all the time before God. As the song says, “anywhere you go let me go to.” That is what the Lord is asking of us and He will guard us and guide us. So today as we go about our day – think about this. And think about including the Lord in all of your day.
