“Relativity” – Theory of Relativity

Updated: Sep 3, 2020

Theory of Relativity is a musical about college students and how their lives interact. Einstein’s theory of relativity explains how to interpret motion between two objects moving at constant speeds relative to each other. Einstein was the first one to challenge Newton’s law of motion that to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. You don’t have to be a physicist to apply these principles to our daily lives literally and theoretically. As we go through life every action and interaction with those around us have some sort of impact. Some are significant and others very small. But the problem is that we don’t always know which is which. Since we don’t know which interaction will have an equal and opposite reaction or which is bigger or less, we have a responsibility to make sure we leave the best possible actions/reactions that we can. And by best it doesn’t always have to be rainbows and sunshine but doing what is right in a positive manner.

This is the second part of Micah 6:8 – to love mercy. One time at a softball tournament, the tournament director did not do their due diligence and did not set up the tournament correctly which included not telling local officials what was happening that weekend. As a result, when they had to call 911 for my mother, 911 did not know where to go. I was furious and unleashed several times on the tournament director. I was right, but the way I acted was not right. I did not love mercy. I was too upset. Not one of my finer moments. Every interaction we have with someone has a reaction. What was the tournament’s director’s because I showed him no compassion or mercy? So, let this fun quirky song from this quirky musical remind us how we should act toward others – even or especially when we are upset. And remember do as I say, not as I have done!
